Project Management Office Templates (Free)

Project Management Templates

Want to get more control over your projects but not sure where to begin?  We have you covered.  The most important thing to remember when embarking on a road to better project delivery is to keep in mind that you need to show your organization value fast and continue to show value over time.

You can begin with as little as a shared drive and some PMO templates ( see details in our posting "Project Management Offices on a Shoestring” ).

Project Status ReportThe project status report template is used to report status to project stakeholders. Depending on the volatility of your project, size/scope of your project, and your organization’s culture, hold weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly meetings with your project stakeholders.

Project PlanThis template can be used to plan out the project schedule.  It should be updated as the status of tasks changes.  This project plan should be reviewed at each stakeholder meeting where the project status report is reviewed.

Project Risk Inventory – This template is used to capture project risks. It should be reviewed at each stakeholder meeting where the project status report is reviewed.

Project Issues Inventory – This template is used to capture risks to the project.  The issues inventory should be reviewed at each stakeholder meeting where the project status report is reviewed.

These templates are the first step in enhancing your project delivery capability.  In subsequent posts we will review additional templates and processes that can enhance your ability to achieve project delivery success.  Remember, start small, show results, enhance, show results, repeat.    crawl…Walk RUN !
