L5P has specialized abilities in helping clients to improve their development capabilities. Improving the development process can involve addressing capability gaps in people, processes, and/or tools. L5P’s vPMO product is very useful for addressing the tools part of this equation. For the people and process aspects, we offer mentoring and guidance services. These services are not intended to be long-term engagements. Our goal is to provide short-term assistance that helps an organization become self sufficient.

Our services include:

PMO Process and Standards - Effective project management is critical to all organizations. A Project Management Office (PMO) can drive sound project management practices and solid business results. It enables informed decision-making, eliminating the guesswork caused by out-of-control projects.
CMM Assessments - A process maturity assessment that follows a method prescribed by the SEI and measures the software process maturity of an organization against the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) framework.
Delivery Capability Assessment - This is the first step in gaining an understanding of existing delivery capability gaps. An experienced L5P principal will work with your organization, non-disruptively, to review existing delivery methods, document improvement opportunities, and develop a recommended migration plan.
Delivery Process Mentoring - Although guides, books, and templates can go a long way toward delivery process enhancement, in some cases it is beneficial to have companion mentoring. We can work with key individuals to achieve delivery excellence in your organization.
Unified Process Adoption - We can help your organization implement a modified or strict Rational Unified Process (RUP) adoption. Initial success using the process can be critical to current and future endeavors.
Project Oversight and Governance - Managing projects, even in an optimal environment with an excellent project manager, can be tricky. For particularly challenging projects, we offer our Oversight and Governance services. This is a customer partnership arrangement whose purpose varies greatly by the organization and its specific needs. If you are concerned about your project's current or future trajectory, we can help you get it back on track.
